Shrinking of Edwin jeans?

HI.

I just bought a pair of edwin ED-47 rainbow selvages. But i bought them a little too long...i dont really have 34" legs. so is their any way of shrinking them without losing the stiffness and color of the fabric? i've heard things about taking a bath with them?
