casual vests/waistcoats?

Im looking for a casual vest for fall, something that works well as layering. Im not talking about a suit/formal vest , but something more sturdy/rugged/casual, without the silk back. Engineered garments has some nice vests in an outdoor and western inspired style (like this http://www.m-a-p-s.jp/SHOP/EGUPLV.html), but they just isnt that available. Filson has some in a style I like aswell, but they might be too warm and outdoorsy. Even J crew has a nice one this seasons, but not "perfect".

So, tips on any brands that have sturdiers vests that might be available in Europe?

Also, random vest&waistcoat wearing ideas might fit this thread..

the EG one? yea, any other color imo.. I really dont like white on clothes like that. Just an example of the style/vibe im after..

I was thinking of trying to get a couple once it would get a bit colder here, to try to avoid the inevitable sweater as long as possible.

I haven't really looked but I'm under the impression that there's some good stuff to be found since it's not in any way a "fashion" or "hip" item to buy second hand.

Ive tried, but no luck at all yet... I only find satin back ones, which I really dont want. Filson on ebay is probably the easiest and cheapest option, but I really want to see if theres any other ideas..

I'll keep my eyes open for both of us then, not sure, might be that all the ones I've seen sofar are actually satin back, like I said, didn't really pay very close attention yet.

Edit: I guess you could also look at hunting stores? Or traditional men's places?

Avoid sweaters? Crazy. I love sweater season. I'm always so much more comfortable in long sleeves.

Oh and bobo, the first filson vest just evokes the feeling of fishing. The second two I kinda like. The second one looks good in that black and gray check flannel.

I've been trying to find a nice vest too, but I haven't had any luck yet. I kind of like the second Filson vest. Bobo, if I find anything I'll let ya know.

thanks for the orvis tip.. not bad pretty similar to that last Filson vest, but probably cheaper.
