I'm in need of some major reshuffling, 4 of my players are either injured or suspended. Man City looks like a good pick as they had a good start but Man Utd is really surprising me. I won the league last year relying mostly on their players. I'm taking a hit this upcoming weekend cause I have to drop players but I'm not gonna give up the top spot easily.

i have the same problem as you, i'll be playing with 10 players this week-end. i blame ronaldo....

Fucking cunt ref gave the peno to CSKA Chelsea. Fucked up my whole day. It was good to see El Nino get of the mark at home and Utd to lose the derby.

Back to #1 spot.

I thought Pool played the better of the 2 teams. Carragher and Agger effectively snuffed out Drogba and there goes Chelsea's attack. Kalou is so ineffective, I dont know why Jose starts him instead of Pizarro. I dont know what Kalou is doing out there. He is a striker/winger but he is effectively a weakened striker.

Plus Jose rushed Essien back to be a right back? He should have played Essien as Lampard's partner with Mikel in the Makelele role. Even with Essien, they conceded their goal from the right. With Essien, Diarra and Ferreira, Jose still cant find his best right back. Dani Alves beckons. Hell, even Ashley Cole wasnt good and I cant imagine Chelsea bought him from Arsenal. Makes Wenger looks like a genius. Makes one miss Gallas.

Lampard was at the back doing defensive duties almost the whole time. Pizarro/Terry lacked match fitness and thats why they missed obvious headers and goals.

Pennant actually looked good and was menacing. So did Torres. Even Riise with his infamous long shots looked dangerous. Kuyt didnt looked good. Less said about Crouch the better. Rafa should have brought in Voronin as a sub instead and see what he has got to offer. Gerrard was excellent and Rafa should bring in Mascherano as well.

Rob Styles was really really poor.

But I guess everyone was happy with Man U getting 2 points out of 3 matches. Man City didnt exactly looked/played great. They were passing the ball with no purpose but hey, 3 wins out of 3 means something.

With Spurs stuttering, looks like the UEFA cup contenders will be Man City, Pompey, Newcastle and Everton. Villa back to their kings of the draw mantle.

Wont it be great if Capello or that guy who manage Sevilla manages Spurs?

I think Rafa plays Kuyt cause he wants him to get a better understanding with Torres. You could see few times during the game that they weren't exactly on the same page. I like Voronin as well but he wasn't even on the bench.

I think Spurs should just chill and wait out the dark days. They have a good manager and a good team but need to work on the defense. I would hate to see Capello in England, he's too good to stand in the way of Liverpool getting the title :)

So will Man City beat Arsenal as well next weekend? City in Europe just doesn't sound right.

1. In order for Pool to win EPl, both Chelsea and Man U must stumble.

Chelsea is stumbling because they conceded 4 goals in 3 games compared to in the past seasons where they have the staunchest defence at least in the early stages. But their spirit and attacking options are still there. Even with Robben out, SWP is shining, Malouda is strong and good. Drogba and Lampard are as reliable as ever. Essien should play in centre midfield. Pizarro looks to be able to blossom into something good. Joe Cole's potential is always there and if Alves comes in, who knows. Sheva who?

Man U is stumbling due to lack of orthodox strikers. Nani still has a long way to go.

Liverpool must still conquer their away losses though.

2. I think Jol should go. They have a good team provided their defence is not injured but always stumble against the top 4. Next match is home vs Man U. Even without the 2 Rs, there is no guarantee Jol can beat Man U even at home.

3. Man City v Arsenal? Unless Jens blunder 3 EPL matches in a row, I think Sven will finally drop points. Kasper really looks jittery and bad like hilarious Hilario last season. Sven finally managed to get Italians to shine in EPL but I dont think he will repeat Jose's first season at Chelsea where they got wins after win and only lost to who else, Man City.

I have no doubt Tevez will shine once he gels with the team but he and old warhorses Giggs and Scholes cannot be Man U's attacking options especially with Rooney, Ronaldo, Saha, Solksjaeer and even Park out. Fergie even threw in Eagles and Campbell against City. My god! Is Dong getting his Man U start next?

seriously, that penalty call was so bullshit, plus it pissed me off and i accidently sent orange juice flying everywhere in my living room. my gf was not happy...

And i listened to the post game interview with the special one and i can't fucking believe that stuff that's coming out of this guy mouth. Chelsea a "naive" team that doesn't cheat, dive or waste time, yeah right!!!!

Papers are talking that Jol's days are numbered and that Sevilla's Juande Ramos is his successor. Crazy shit if you ask me, I would only go for Capello at this point. Ramos plays very high defense and they will get slaughter in the league unless they get a top class centerbacks. Bad weeks ahead of Spurs fans.

Jol just doesnt cut it! Spurs will always be No. 5 with him unless they change to someone else. Even last season, Spurs were hammered by all the top 4 except when they beat Chelsea in White Hart Lane. I dont think Capello would be keen on Spurs. Even if he was, in the short term, Spurs wont win the EPL but should win some cups like League, UEFA or FA.

As for Ramos, King's Cup and consecutive UEFA cups must mean something even if their strike force is built on a right back. Wasnt he the one who made Spurs flop Kanoute now a coveted buy by EPL clubs and made Julio Baptista a 20 goal striker, something Real and Arsenal couldnt get out of him?

Well, 2 seasons ago, a dubious linesman call cost Chelsea a date in Athens with AC Milan and now Styles cost Pool 2 points. I think there are divers/cheaters/time wasters in every team.

sorry if i haven't replied to you earlier fatchino, this weeks has been completely hectic. i have to check again, but i'm pretty sure that if you join now, you'll start with 0 point which would mean at this state of the season that you'd have practically no chance of winning so i definetely wouldn't mind you joining ;)

if you already have a team, i guess it depends on how many points you have so far ;)

but seriously, i guess i'll leave this up to the other members, we should keep that thread alive a little more!!!

i'm sucking so much, i keep making changes to my lineup and forgetting to save the changes, the webpage is so stupid...

No worry's ... I have a team already. On 654; top of l'autre SUFU league. Hence my eagerness to get my $20 in. Understandable if I'm barred seeing as its approaching midseason and there's a bit of cash riding on it. Hoping to win my former workplace event but slipping badly at the moment ... had to take a hit to put Ronaldo in; he's an essential on this form.

Anyway let me know, pleazze.
