Chainstitch dying

Hi I just got my overdyed Iron Hearts chainstitch hemmed by Self-Edge but the thread they used wasn't the same color as the other threading because of the overdye so I was wondering whether there was a way to dye the threads again?

If theyre raw you should be able to wet your finger with water and rub it against the thread on your hem. The indigo will run a little bit because of the water and it should stain the thread to help it match better.

Even if theyre not raw give it a shot, it should still work.

i just got a pm from kiya and he explained that there's no such thing as a overdyed thread b/c it changed color during production. but like XX said, a little bit of wear from the black will rub off onto the stitch and darken, especially after it's next soak or wash.

thanks kiya

The stitch will actually turn into a darker color after a week or two because the black overdye will rub off onto the stitch.

All fresh stitching will look extremely bright but will become less noticable even after a week of wear due to the indigo rubbing off onto the stitch.

yeah this is better than the alternative, which would be black thread. because a year down the line your hem would be black while the rest of the yellow stitching would be showing through.
