Melbourne based design studio Famous have a peculiar attraction to people, places and things that seem to go unnoticed. Inspired by notorious, everyday or in-between locations, they settle into a selected district for a while, collecting ideas and images to make Famous.

Dallas is a little known residential suburb located in Broadmeadows, 17km north of central Melbourne. Residency #1 of this project focuses on this slightly dilapidated area due of the abundance of source material there (and of course the fantastic name).

The graphics created by Famous grow out of found type and icons, rec centres and b-ball teams, and from the suburban landscape that surrounds them. Dallas’ graphics all have a lived in, not quite worn out feel.

Famous T-shirts are lovingly designed, made, hand-printed, washed and boxed in the heart of Collingwood, VIC, Australia.
