is there a way to use google checkout for an individual seller?

iirc you have to be located (or have an address) in the US to set up a google checkout account.

Could be wrong though.

Yeah I'm having a little trouble with this myself. Google checkout seems to assume that you are a business instead of an individual seller when you are signing up for a sellers account. Is there anyway to sign up as an individual seller instead of a business? Also, why does google need your social security number to sign up for a sellers account? It just seems like too much information to give. Sorry for the noobish questions, but thanks for the help you guys.
