Really i thought BIG stop doing it for people who don't buy jeans from them. Andybody know what is turn around time for them to do this? Going to NYC in Sept, was going to drop by to check out store, figure i can bring my Flatheads with me to get them hemmed.

i got mine done at BiG all the way from houston, tx. it was about $22 total - $6 to ship to them, $10 to hem, $6 for return shipping - all done through USPS priority mail.

i also remember reading that BiG might stop providing the service for items not bought in store shortly after i had mine done. it was something about how the chainstitch machine they have isn't neccessarily meant for doing hems and they don't want to break it (i'm guessing it was originally supposed to be used on the waistband, bc thats the only other place i see a chainstitch on my SD-103's)

If you search, you should find a thread about a guy in a town north of of San Francisco, I forget the important parts, he did my 5000BKs. I don't know how you'll find it but I know it's there. If you can find them they might do it, probably not but you won't know if you don't ask. If you sent them jeans with a prepaid UPS box or something they might do if you made it easy for them to send them back to you.

You sure they're not chainstitched on the inseam, plus all the felled seams in the top block? (I'm certain that any repro would be)

San Rafael, it's called Jamies. Amazing work! I hemmed a pair I sold to Denim Phenom, and it's really quality. Took almost a week though! Good people though, nice small shop
