I haven't noticed many nicer cars around the Soho area either.

Miami is where I've seen the most expensive rides. Lambos, Bentley's, and Ferrari's are everywhere down there. And the real cocky assholes park their Lambos and Ferarri's with the doors open and up so that everyone stares and take pictures with it.

Yea, Miami is pretty crazy. Here in Orange County it's no different either. Most people just take thier Ferrari's, Lambos, and Aston Martins out on the weekend, and drive thier SL's, Bentley GTs, and 7 series for work. There's a ton of wealth and you definitely get jaded with it after a while.

The only real surprise I get now a days are the occasional Bugatti, Enzo, and SLR sighting.

You know what's funny about Miami too, the drivers there are complete shit! (no offense to Miami residents here, just my observation)

soraanaam- Yea Newport and Laguna is pretty much where I see all those cars. Although about a month ago I saw some old man, probably mid 50s-60s in a Bugatti Veyron going through Huntington, all I thought was, "WTF?" And it was baby blue and navy blue, ick!

you must have been in SoHo on an off day. I'm down there pretty often and on any given day will see a phantom or two, maybach, every AMG or M series BMW, Ferrari, Aston Martin.... gramercy is nice but all dog walkers in sweatsuits with no shopping and flatiron???...i worked there for awhile and it's pretty hit or miss but really doesn't strike me as the kind of neighborhood where i think of big money. you don't really have a lot to buy there unless you're looking for a jamba juice or a piece of lumber. try the uppereast in the 60's, 70's and 80's, tribeca or the 57th st shopping area.

Interesting observation. When I was in NY I didn't really notice that much wealth being flaunted in the Soho area, more like the Flat Iron, Gramercy areas. But to echo what others have said, there is wealth everywhere there.

I think more of the reason I saw more affluence out of Soho is because a lot of nice homes/townhouses/etc. are up that way. But then again, I don't live there, this is just my observation.

Soho to me, was much more full of NYU students, or people in thier mid 20's who dressed rather casually, stylish, but casual. I saw more cats on skateboards than Bentleys.

I rented a Ford Escort with a friend last fall and drove to Miami to see Daft Punk. Walking down Ocean Dr, in 1 block during the day, I saw an Enzo, a Testerossa, 2 Murcielagos, a couple Bentleys, and a Phantom. All at the same time. Seems like a lot of people down there are living beyond their means, maybe not the people with the exotics, but it seems like everyone has a nice car there.

Those nice cars you see parading around SoHo arent from the area. They tend to belong to the gallery/restaurant owners, financiers, etc who cruise by from their homes in Long Island or Westchester.

Pretty ridiculous though, driving around on those awful SoHo cobblestone roads in a tight suspension, run-flat tired, 500+ hp superexotic.

God, I hate the rich.

i think a lot of them are from manhattan and if you go to the uppereastside at night or walk around triibeca you can see the garages filled with gt2s, maybachs, alpinas, etc... . they might have summer homes out on the island or to the north or in jersey but they (THE RICH) also have homes in the city and work in the city. manhattan has plenty of exotic car dealerships on park ave or in north chelsea/hells kitchen to satiffy all the gallery owners, wall streeters, hedgefunders, celebrities who like to drive 2 1/2 miles in a 500+ horsepower car to their work or to a party.
