Boat shoes are fine. But if you and Muffy are gonna' be on the beach, you might as well pop your collar so your neck doesn't get sunburned.

Then again, I never go to the beach, so maybe that's a moot point.

I'd just go with Sperry or Sebago. Mad colors,good price and decent construction. Summer steez alternative to chucks and much more comfortable imho.

assuming this is not a windup, those are driving shoes - armed with this knowledge, i'm confident you'll figure out why the "cleats" are there.
