suggestions for new digicam

So my beloved coolpix 995 has finally kicked the bucket which means I'm in the market for a new digicam. I know lots of people on here are photo freaks so I figured I'd ask for some advice. I'm pretty open, but have a few requirements:

1) No SLR. Years ago I invested in a TON of money in pentax lenses for my K1000 and if I need that much tweaking I'll just stick with film... I suppose I could buy a pentax digital but I haven't really heard much about them.

2) I want full-manual. Occasionally I want to be able to do metered white-balance and saturation and stuff like that as well as superlong exposures.

3) Trying not to spend more than $500 (this kind of ties in with requirement 1 heh)

Any thoughts/suggestions (about the camera!) welcome... Thanks!
