help with semi formal wear

I got a semi formal boat night in a week. So far, I got myself a purplish./white dress shirt and regular black stright dress pants. all i need now is shoes. What kind of shoes do you guys think will work out for semi formal? I don't reallly wanna ruin my nice shinny dress shoes that I have for formal stuff. So i am willing to go spend money and get another pair good priced dress shoe.

was wondering if anyone got pics as to how dress boots would look for a semi formal wear?

It been great if the shoe will also go well with normal stright jeans with a T-shirt or with a hoodie on.

just get a pair of brogues or oxfords and you'll be fine.

check out one of Haptronic or Carl's posts, they frequently wear dress shoes with jeans, and those dress shoes could be worn in a semi-formal context as well.

Since you're on a boat, you should wear boat shoes.

If its a semi formal event I wouldnt wear pants, switch the pants with a pair of fitted jeans paired up with yr black dress shoes plus the dress shirt. That should do the work. If you wanna complete the look throw in a casual blazer. That will do
