Lee repro id, 30s?

I picked these up on the cheap, can't figure out what style of Lee they are. At first thought they could be a knockoff with assorted vintage features, am also thinking they could be some sort of a sample?

They have some effects of the 30s repros, but with pant-like not jean-style pockets, and no selvedge. The denim's light, dark, they have vintage lee rivets (front & back pockets, crotch), authentic (I think) gripper zipper, generic lee leather tag on back left, vintage style lazy S/V back pocket stitching (back pockets are lined), and they have a japanese tag. The cut is kind of "engineered" as well, not straight, boot or antifit.

Wierdest part is the yolk is stitched partway with chainstitch and the half way through it switches to a regular lockstitch.
