Shops open early sunday morning in NYC

I'm going to be in new york sunday and i'd like to do some shopping around soho and the surrounding areas but i'm meeting some family at 1 and will probly be spending the rest of the day with them. should i go early like 8? or will nowhere be open?

if there are places open what are they and where?
