I think its a pretty cool town for its size. nice, historic, pretty intact downtown with some cool little shops, and federal hill, thayer street and the rest of the east side are pretty lively places.

@ OP - It has a new American Apparel downtown somewhere. Other than that, I haven't really seen that many stores aside from the typical ones in the Providence Place mall, but I wasn't exactly looking.

fuck the east side, i'm north side pride....all those stupid houses on the east side where no one knows their neighbors and rent is out the ass for a crappy place....hilltop ave 4 life!

yeah prov is pretty wack for shopping unless you really need to go to another urban outfitters or mall chain...

that being said i still love it and miss it...it's got a good vibe and theres some great people there

Providence probably has the best untouched, underexposed skateboarding on the east coast.

Can't help you on shopping, but skateboarding in Providence is great.

I'm in college there right now, and yeah it fucking sucks. when you're stuck in places like this, internet shopping becomes the best invention since the wheel.

there is a decent outlet, wrentham. they have burton in there, and had some GREAT deals on boarding goods like board + bindings, helmet + goggles.
