Levi's Jeans: How Much Do They Stretch?

I'm a little bit of a newbie to the world of fitted jeans. In the past, I used to buy the baggiest jeans possible. Now that I am getting a bit older, I am finding the hip hop look dated. I'm investing in some more fitted jeans. I bought a pair of 514's and they fit perfectly, right off the rack. They are very soft, too. The 30/32's are really nice.

However, I tried both the 527 bootcut and 511 skinny leg jeans which fit very differently in 30/32. The 527's are too tight in the crotch and waist. The 511's are just ridiculously skinny. If I find them too small right now right after purchase, will they stretch to "just right" over the course of a few days or weeks?

Earlier this year, I bought a pair of Guess bootcuts and while they fit me just right (not quite skin tight but a nice fitted silhouette) on day one, they've stretched noticeably everywhere and are now slightly relaxed in fit.

So, if I start 'too tight' with Levi's, will they stretch to 'just right' over time?

two or seven ... but never twice.

I kid, i kid. They stretch almost all denim does, but washing shrinks them back. You have to play with wearing them and washing to keep the fit where you want it. If you are talking just regular old levis I would get them tight but not so tight you can't do them up.

My first post is in regards to the ridiculousness of your question with out having to be flat out blunt about it.

They will stretch. How much in a year? Who knows. How much weight will you gain this year? what climate do you live in? what activity do you do in them? Will you ever get caught in the rain with them on? What is normal? Will you wear a belt?

All denim stretches, there is no gauge on how much a certain pair of jeans will stretch because all wearing and wearer situations are different. Like I said before you can adjust the fit with hot and cold soaks as well as drying techniques. I would not worry about setting up some sort of ultimatum like "I am not washing for one year, now how much will my jeans stretch". Washing your jeans is good for them just use a gentle soap, preferably hand wash them and hang to dry.
