i never will wear board shorts. shit always looked funny.

i never really understood the hate some ppl have against boardshorts. sure nowadays, everyone and their moms are wearing some (and they have somewhat become the summer uniform of the bandanna and t-shirt with the sleeves cut-off wearing frat morons but still). like sbbbjm said, i think very very few ppl can get away with wearing tight(er) swim trunk...

I have patagonia ones, and I like them a lot. Im just way too tall for them (6'6...). You will be stoked on them though at 5'9.

If only I could find a pair with a generous inseam thats not made out of polyester (Im allergic)...

when people say swim trunks i think of those horrible elastic waisted completely unflattering swim shorts with built in underwear.

seriously, i know you probably trying to be different than the frat boys in your trunks but there is a reason why board shorts are more popular . . . they're more flattering. get shorter ones if thats your thing, but unless you have the body of a swimmer or a track star runner, don't fool yourself and think you can pull of short swim trunks, or trunks period.

this whole thread reminds of the time i was at barton springs in austin. i think i counted 4 guys wearing the same green 70's throwback, american apparel short trunks thinking they were the shiz bc it was AA and socially conscious.

well i wish i could told every one of them that -- one, there pale flabby gut was hanging out over your elastic waist band that just drew more attention to your gross middle section. two, their pasty ass hairy legs were showing a little too much and the slit on the sides was showing a little too high up bc you can almost see ass cheek. three, your business is all visible for everyone to see bc AA's cheap nylon blend becomes see through when its wet.

whatever you do, whatever you buy, just don't be that guy
