Try removing old paint with acetone, and I guess very very thin layers of angelus paint should do the trick. Not super likely to chip.

Jacks run the same size as Chuck Taylors with the insole taken out, meaning the more supportive insole makes them fit tighter.

With the insole in it's better to go with your regular size.
