Salt on jeans

Maybe some of the other northerners (sam or ryan) can help me out on this. So being in Madison WI, every winter we're walking around w/ salt everywhere. Thus, salt gets on the backs of our jeans. There's no way im washing them and i don't really want to get them dry cleaned. anyone have suggestions for the removal?

Deal with it! :P It builds character.

In reality though, I tromp through said salt every day and it doesn't do anything bad to my jeans. If anything, salt will act as a sealant of the indigo when the denim becomes wet.

What about the whole turning the jeans white part?

Road salt != Sodium chloride

Salt will whiten your jeans. Either roll up your cuffs so the salt stains the inside, (but beware of the salt and rocks flying into your cuffs), or wash it off when it gets dirty. Just note that when you wet your cuffs, some salt could leech up your pant legs so soak and scrub em good.
