The men's models look pretty much the same. Maybe the rise is a little higher. Check ebay regularly. I've seen them pop up. Not in 29-30, though.

bringing life in the form of a question into a pretty old thread:

anyone been able to compare the sizing differences between the mens' and womens' versions of the white-painted label 101 z's? I really like the fit of andrewfuncrew's, but prefer to steer clear of womens' jeans (in name if nothing else), so I'm curiou how different the mens' are (rise, skinniness, leg-opening).

Also: how much do these tend to stretch?

comparing pics... it looks like rise, most likely inseam, and maybe bigger pockets

i have no idea... just guessing from pics

anyway... was thinking of buying these, but i guess not

I'd def recommend getting these for the 30" waisted. They don't shrink much in the waist (I think it's the post-soak size that's tagged) and they do stretch with wear. If they're snug, just wash and wear while wet to preven too much shrink.

The rise on mine's not as low as afc's, but I don't have a tape measure, I looked at my old supermarket listing, and the 36" waist had an 11" rise.

Haha, I was watching those, too, Dex. I think they'd be much too small for me.

Who are you recommending the size 30 waist for, ang?

What size are yours? I'd love to know the rise measurement if you get around to it.

I'd recommend the 28 on ebay for anyone who's an honest 30". I think the 28" on the tag is after shrinkage, although Lees shouldn't shrink because it's sanforized. The ones I got were vanity sized, I guess. I'm normally a 32, and I could fit into a 30 (I bought a 34 because I have skinny legs I want to cover).

I still don't know the rise on mine, but I did sell a pair of 36" and the rise was:

Rise: (front, from top of waistband to start of inseam) 11" or 27.94 cm

(back, from top of waistband to start of inseam) 15.25" or 38.735 cm

I don't know if this'll help, as the women's has a lower rise, but as you can see from that listing you're watching on ebay, the hips don't flare out at all, so the lower rise seems to be the only difference between the men's and women's.

Over on the other sf, they had a discussion on these Lees:

Hm. By the sounds of it I think I'd go for a waist size 29. So they are sanfordized?

I suppose these will go on the ever-growing list of "if I see them pop up in my size somewhere for cheap..."

I'd love to see front and back pics someone in a pair of well-fitting mens' version at some point
