living in the uk back in that time was cool but it really was much better in 89 -91 , the drugs were pure , the music was in its infancy so it didnt have all the bullshit it has now, ive been a dj since back then and now the dance music scene is so watered down its a joke, in the uk rock and independant bands are smashing it, dance music is dead on its arse (unfortunatly) there is a serious lack of great tunes now , hed kandi is a joke its a brand not anything else they are doing stuff that mastercuts were doing years ago and packaging it as fresh new stuff = total bollocks

i don't know if it's dying but it's definitely becoming more diluted...i guess since the barrier to entry is so low nowadays...not too long ago making electronic music (any type) was a lot of fukin work and was limited to producers, engineers, etc. who had a lot of experience...no offense to the laptop niggaz but they're kinna flooding the market.

also uk wayback machine: that's before the ban on repetitive beats ('94 iirc) when dudes were still runnin around having parties wherever/whenever, right? altern8 with their crazy ass partycrashin' etc.

and http://www.djbluecore.com/ is probably the most terrible thing i can think of off the top of my head

Shut up and sleep with me was quite possibly one of the best songs to grace the radio.

But if any of you were living in Toronto in 93, 94, 95, 96 you KNOW it was all about Electric Circus on MuchMusic.
