Capital L is quite cool, and you can have a walk up and down Oxford St (where Incu is as well - but Incu is pretty boring IMO). I haven't been thrilled by any retail shopping in Sydney lately. Paddington Markets on Saturdays are still popular, even though the prices are whoa Nelly and originality has gone down, but still fun for a potter round.

Save your tired feet for a cocktail at Opera Bar or Ravesi's at Bondi as the sun goes down...

Essential spots… all I have on my list at the moment is:

- ourspot

- another inch

- capital l

- incu

Am I missing anything important?

William St & Glenmore Rd off Oxford street in Paddington both offer some good stores.

Dorby Den on Crown St.

Are you after mens or womens or both??

BTW Opera bar is pretty average in my opinion - nice place let down by unpleasant patrons and poor service. Cafe Sydney on a Sunday afternoon is superb - great view, great menu (both food & drink) and best service.

Anything else you are after on your visit to Sydney?

im not sure they do have w)taps stuff in sydney, but if they do you should ask around on the www.sneakerfreaker.com forums, those kooks know that type of stuff. also has anyone been to a store called espionage on oxford, i pass there everyday but i have no clue whats inside.

It's a sneaker shop. It is OK, mostly nike... some stuff is over priced and the best stuff isn't even for sale. It pretty much shits on every other sneaker store in Sydney but then again the rest of the world shits on Sydney for sneakers. Carries some clothing too - nike, adidas & stussy from memory. Worth a visit if you pass it everyday but don't have high expectations although I haven't been there for a couple of months.

hi all. new superfuture user and new to sydney as well. just moved up here from melbourne.

was wondering where i could cop stuff by w)taps? ive checked supply but they dont really carry anything from there.

thanks in advance!

Is supply the place under Carhartt in Darlinghurst?? If so then thats the only place that would ever carry it in Sydney that I can think of...

...If it isn't the place under Carhartt then try there.

I agree it probably is the best sneaker store in Sydney. Espionage is pretty small but it usually has the latest nike air force 1, air max releases etc. Other brands they stock include stussy, bape, adidas, the hundreds from what I remember. The owner was pretty helpful when I was last in there.

Hi guys and gals

Im a new SFer but have been around Sydney a bit.

Our Spot is okay but the ammount of product in store is a little sparse. I wanted a pair of low Common Projects but they only had a couple pairs of hi's when I was in last. I suppose its a good place if you like the current Maiden Noir catalog.

Another Inch is compulsory for Imperials.

Footage, next door to Another Inch has a decent range of sneakers. Good for imported Nikes that you wont find in Hype or places like that. The owner is a cool guy too.

SP1 in The Galleries Victoria has some decent things from time to time, street style stuff like Carhartt, Stussy, Evisu, Air Force 1's etc. They have sister shops in World Square on Goulborne St. and in Haymarket (Chinatown) in Market City shopping centre. Ive found rare Nikes in there from time to time.

Nitrogen (on George St (#580) across the road from the cinema and near footlocker)- They have Bape, LRG, Stussy etc. Pretty decent stuff but I cant remember other brands.

Good luck and have fun

Nice forum.

To be honest I havent worn Samurai or those other brands mate. I have two pairs of Imperial Dukes (Indigo and Black) and for now I am happy with just these two so I havent really looked for other brands.

$260 a pair. Worth every cent believe it. :)

None of the jap denim in Sydney that I am aware of. I often wonder if a specialist denim store would be popular in Syd. I mean it would pretty much be one of a kind but I don't know if the demand is there? Especially with the mark up we are likely to get.

I do remember seeing a jap label on oxford street that has pretty recently opened - selling denim and leather stuff. I only went in for a sec but I am pretty sure it only stocks the one label which name I can't think of now. I don't think it was a well known one but it could be worth a visit

there used to be a shop in the Rocks that carried Somet denim, CDG, etc , and was gonna to carry Dior Homme as well, pity it shut down

Is that the place next to Gucci? I hadn't been in there for a while but it was going down hill rapidly. Last I was in there all it really had was some really bad Dolce.

Other good spots in Syd I forgot to mention are Robby Ingham and Belinda... good if you wanna drop alot of coin anyway.

I just left Sydney a day ago ... Didn't have much time to shop but dug the Ariel book store and stayed at the Kirketon Hotel in Darlinghurst . went to a great bar around there as well - Can't remember the name but it was a first floor warehouse decked out with thrift furniture and hot models. Did the trick.

Must be a different joint as the place i mentioned was still around end of last year and i think is still around now. From memory it's called fusion.

thats probably the place, i think they changed hands around 2003-4, not too sure

the original shop was called Five Way Fusion

i just wish Sydney had shops that carried Japanese denim like BiG, Self Edge, or even a DH boutique, etc

i am just sick of the usual brands like Stussy, Nike, Adidas, Vans, but then shops like Supply and another'inch are there for ppl with cash to spend, which aint me

yea, Sydney has a lot of great bars and places to visit

but when u are not a person that goes out partying or clubbing or drinking every wkend, Sydney becomes a place where there isnt much to do, but to spend time with a few old gd mates

Yeah i know how you feel but regardless I dont really have the coin. The reason why I spend so much time on a fashion site getting depressed looking as stuff I can't afford alludes me.

On a completely different note there is an Australian AA site coming soon.

exactly what I was thinking. When i was partying 3+ nights of the week I was loving sydney. Now that all i do is work all day/study 2 nights a week and only go out for special occasions sydney is becoming boring.

Australian AA site?

i wonder wat the pricing is like

i reckon everything is Syd is too expensive for me to afford, thats why i frequent SuFu, always on the look out for items that pop up from time to time

sometimes i wonder how members on this site can afford some many things (other than the fact that they use their hard-earnt money) otherwise I'd wish i have that kind of cash hanging around

LOL, most of the time i just sit out hving coffee with my mates, chatting, and none of my friends are denim freaks or into things that i like

the genericness of Sydney's shop is really boring me out, especially General Pants, Hype (although they do sometimes carry some cool stuff, but again the price tag kills me at an instant)
