This pretty much means its the end of Beckham's career. Pele and Beckenbauer did the same thing at the end of their careers. Playing in the American league is basically the lowest you can go when you are a football player. It's a good retirement job though 1$ Million a week daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaamn.

he has enough professionalism left in him to still play at 80% of his peak

and coupled with his marketing value, i think hes going to make some big waves.
