Raw Neighborhood Denim

there were selling for 28000 yen last year. i think the denim was too thin and even though i'm not yet a big denim expert, i thought they didn't compare to other jeans at the same price range so i would definitely say overpriced. never seen some faded one so i can't really comment other than it will most likely look like their regular washed jeans. i like the cut though...

I bought a pair through 2000db (thanks again). They are indeed overpriced but I love mine. The narrow fit is the best fitting jp jean I've tried on; medium low rise, perfect straight leg, cool detailing, great, seasonally-distinct stitching on big back pockets. The denim is great imo; indeed thinner than most jp brands - I think it's a 12 oz... - but nice, soft selvage, low slubbiness, rich, mid-sheen blue.

There aren't many stores in the US that carry them, UNION in LA/NY is the only one that I know of, but there are obviously online stores that will mark up the price about $20-40.

the earlier seasons of neighborhood jeans are way better than the current. at least those are made in japan. i don't know where the current ones are made though...

anyway i've got a pair of nbhd 05 narrow blacks for sale at supermarket!

shameless plugging i know.

Is the raw Neighborhood denim sanforized?

I`ve got some w)taps raw denim. I asked the staff in blackflag if it would shrink when I washed it and they said 2 or 3 inches but when I put it in to warm soak for an hour they hardly shrank at all, which made me think they were sanfordised. My friend has some neighborhood raws and the denim looks a similar weight/quality...wtaps and nbhd are sister coys after all so maybe this info is useful?..

^ That's exactly right. Savage Level - 4 (which I think is the highest level) is how the seasonal, super-distressed jeans are labeled, like this season's Scab Savages, for example.

Cameland, would you say more/less stretching than average? For example, I think we all can agree that Nudie/APC's stretch more than average.

I think the newer supposed "Savage" effects looks like Jackson Pollock with a sewing machine - a little overpriced and overdone if you ask me. But I suppose you pay for the wash/effects... I prefer Neighborhood narrow Savage level 1 or 2 washes - more subtle, but still has the identifiable Neighborhood signature look.

The regular medium cuts float on me.

Expect a lot of stretching. Especially if you wear them low on hip.

I second this. I have a pair of Neighborhood narrows...not so narrow anymore.

In truth though, I feel I've outgrew the hype of Neighborhood denim (mainly due to SuFu). With that price I much rather spend the money towards a pair of Sammies, Ironhearts, Diors, DenimJunkies, or Flatheads.

You'll get the Levi 501 fit with the equivalent number price.
