I sell KMW at CONTEXT and they are great, but they are about to get much better. They are switching all of their production from China to Japan starting with the Spring '07 collection. Same great Japanese denim but with even better construction. Should be arriving here in Febuary.

i tried them on at Guise here in chicago.nice jeans.couldn't drop that kind of cash on jeans made in china though. The people that work there told me the same thing as the guy above me,that next year they are changing theyre production to japan, which will supposedly up the price $100...

i have the 1980's. they are ok.

i dont have much time to wear jeans these days so they havnt gotten much wear since i got them in august.

i thought they were a bit too pricey, and the only reason i bought them was the fact i talked the girl in the shop into thinking the dust that was smudged into them was a defect of some sort. idiot, haha.

KMW is good stuff, and yes they are changing their manufacturing from China to Japan and the price bump will be around $100 per. All hardware everything sourced from Japan, and the new denim will be a bit slubbier if I remember correctly (not slubby like their AWA 1950 limited eds.). The stitching will be a little cleaner looking as well. Keep your eye on them.

We just received our Kicking Mule Workshop jeans and man did they deliver with this production.

Details:

Zimbabwean cotton, rope dyed with natural indigo dye, garment and fabric made in Okayama Prefecture, Japan. Hidden rivets at points of stress on all pockets, doughnut buttons, and yes it is sanforized. They added a small leather patch on the back waist line, and the selvage line is red on one side and blue on the other.

We have the 1980 and their new fit called the Rocker (similar to the Even Steven from Nudie, but a bit slimmer). We haven't even entered them into the system yet, check our site for detailed pictures and fit info this weekend.

Ryan is not kidding about the new KMWs. I knew they were going to be good, but these things are ridiculous.

Many of you how I feel about my Sorahikos, my xx-005s and especially my Somets-

This new season of Japan made KMWs is absolutely on the same level as all three.

The quality of the fabric, hardware and construction puts them right in the same neighborhood.

I know it sounds like I work for the company- but I'm just saying;

If you are in to the highest quality Japanese denim Kicking Mule Workshop is right in your wheelhouse.

I was just in Context today to check out the new KMW's and I'm impressed. The 1980 is similar to a '66 cut, but bit slimmer and with a lower back pocket stance (my frame of reference for these is the Studio D'Artisan SD-103). The Rocker is a very nice slim/skinny fit and were suprisingly flattering on my larger frame. The denim is 14oz and has a very smooth hand. I don't really have anything new to add to Sam's description, but I just thought I would give them a shout because they really are nice jeans. KMW has upped their game with the new details and as such I think they're worth the higher price. And they're made in USA which makes them even more attractive.

ps. Sam and Ryan, thanks for the belt!

Thanks for the shout out Travis. FYI the Kicking Mules are made in Japan, but the company is based in the US.

are they based in boulder colorado? i heard that somewhere, but i looked in the phone book out here for their office location or something, and it wasnt in there. information didnt find it either.

i kinda wanted to see if there was like a tour haha or like i dunno other denim heads, cause i dont know anyone out here who likes good denim.

For any women reading this thread..

Kicking Mule's women's line is being released in five months.

So far the only women's line we've seen that's all selvedge, which i think is a great touch because so many lines drop the selvedge for their women's cuts.

They actually currently even produce the Rocker cut down to women's sizes and they look great on women.
