repairing rips in denim

does anyone have any suggestions on the best ways to repair rips in denim?

years of wear and tear on an old pair of rogans finally opened up a rip on the upper thigh that spreading at a pretty rapid clip. it looked ok at first, but i at the rate the rip is opening i fear i'm going to lose the whole leg.

does anyone have any recommendations or photos of patch or repair jobs that look good?
