I think they did something different with this year's edition. There was one person in the PRPS thread that has experience with the earlier editions and he sees a marked difference in the denim.

Unfortunately very little is known about the dye or the weaving technique. All I found was that they use vintage Levis looms to make this fabric.

Nonetheless, these feel ACE. Soft to the touch, beautiful rich colour, nice details and I'll know in a few years if they're well put together

very nice prize! those are one my fav jeans of all times. got a pair (when they were called 'new fit' and had the snap buttons at the waist) in feb 2007. amazing denim and an even better fit. i don't buy backup pairs of the jeans that i own, but i think i'm gonna make an exception for those.
