Why is the Levi's 3rd Type Jacket the most popular...?

Newbie question. Why is the 3rd type denim jacket the best selling, most worn and copied version? Just wanted to see if there is a reason, being that almost everyone I see on the street that is wearing a denim jacket, is rcoking that version. Thank you.

I can't say for sure why but maybe because it came of age during the rock and roll generation? Folks started wearing jeans and jean jackets as more than just work clothing.

You'll have to look a lot harder to find the type 1 and 2.

I read somewhere that the type 3 is actually their version of a Lee jacket. If you look, the type1 and 2 look more alike, and the 3 is quite a departure from that.

I think it has to do more with the fit. The fit is more slender and less boxy like the type 1 and 2s. I have a type2 and type 3 jacket and the type 3 is way more fitted. That being said, I still like my type 2 better. The type 3 is actually a vintage late 60s trucker jacket. It was my mom's and I started wearing it, then I gave it back to her. It is still dark as hell... probably worth quite a bit. An ex-girlfriend of mine almost stole it until I did a midnight raid on her closet before we broke up. booyahh!
