For designers - Mannequins?

Besides ebay which charges an arm and a leg (ha!) for shipping, where else can I pickup a mannequin? My girlfriend is just starting out with some simpler designs, so I prefer it to be adjustable as long as it's not too expensive... and if there's nowhere decent online, I am reasonably close to LA so I'm guessing there has to be somewhere around here where I can get one, but where?

A simplier time.

Yeah the adjustable dress forms are going to more expensive, but they will last forever, and the thing you need for draping, fit etc. Mannequins are good for taking shots of the clothing etc

thanks for the clarification guys, I guess what I'm really looking for is a form. What would be a good one to start out with? Also what kind of price range am I looking at?
