^^ There will DEFINITELY be a Clarks store in NYC........check their site. Either way, just about any shopping center has a place that stocks Clarks. I was considering getting a pair and am glad that I didn't. The sole is really ugly in person and the leather is insanely thin.........they are cheap though.

I opted for a pair by Coach (first thing I have ever bought from them but I couldn't resist). They ended up being on sale at the end of last season for $80 (down from $165). You may be able to find them on the net somewhere.......as seen here from one of my 'recent purchases' posts; they look alot better in person and have more of a pointed toe than the phot shows:

Well, just so you know, the shoes in that first pic are absolutely 100% Clark's Desert Boots, so if you like the ones in the pic, that is what you need to get.....

I'm not convinced that they are Clark's. The red line around the sole falls in a different place in the first picture than it does in the picture of the Clarks.

Those Coach boots are nice...I would pick some of those up if I could find them...

The "red line" which you speak of is a discoloration from wearing them....as you can see from the other Clark's picture, the band at the top of the sole is a darker more "orangy" color than the rest of the shoe which will darken with wear, as the crepe sole does in general.....no one else really uses those crepe soles. They have to be Clark's.

Clarks has a new model called the "Metro Groove" that's like their Desert Boot with a pointier toe. Looks rad:

So i need some versatile boots that i can use in college and for casual affairs in a new york winter. But the only boots i feel compliment 'my style' are these clark desert boots, will they do?

Those are Desert Treks and I think they are ugly as shit. Get some real desert boots, as pictured in the posts above.

if not you can check out nicholas deakins.. he has some takes on a couple (quite few actually) of clarks models and I think they have atleast somewhat lower toeboxes and maybe a little sleeker than most of todays clarks got.
