Best Shopping Places in Montreal

Recommended Posts

I am in New York and visiting Montreal first week of September. No shopping trip (well, atleast for me) is complete without some quality shopping. So i would like some local or somebody with the knowhow of Montreal to guide me regarding the best stores to check out. A little guidance with the night clubs will be helpful as well. i am more interested in Raves or Trance parties. Thanks

please use the search button, there has been many threads, some very recently, about shopping in Montreal. in summary, it sucks, coming from new york, i don't think you will do too much shopping. as for night clubs, there is just so many. check out Aria, Circus and Stereo for after hour clubbing (clubs stupidly close at 3 am). i like Circus the best of them, but Stereo usualy have better dj, but attracts a mostly gay crowd. i've only been to Aria once and it was for a concert, but the interior is kind of crappy so i didn't like the place so much.

also, check out these sites for more info on clubbing

Aria had (not sure if they still have) free entry for girls on Saturday nights, but it's a good deal sketchier than Circus and Stereo. However, I think Circus has some ridiculously high cover so Aria will probably be my usual hangout next year too.

Shopping streets, try Sherbrooke between Cote des Neiges and University (I think, not sure) and St. Laurent between Sherbrooke and Pins, as well as Prince Arthur between St. Laurent and Parc.
