The Rbk Reebopper II is a collaboration between designers Pat Tenore (co-founder of RVCA) and Chris Torres of Reebok. It is a vulcanized leather slip-on. It is made w/ the highest quality leathers available w/ a buttery soft pigskin lining. This is a brand new model created specifically for this project, although it may be used as a base for future projects. The shoes upper is “scarred†w/ Basquiat’s art using the most shallow laser etching process possible. The pairs are asymmetrical in many ways. The socliners have different prints, the right foot has a message in the liner, the left foot heel is different from the right, and the rubber heel tags are different from one another. On the vintage white colorway one side has a blue stripe on the foxing and the other has a red stripe. The outsole is made up a vintage honey translucent gum compound. The shoe will come in a special box w/ unique tissue paper (see the images of the box after the jump). There will also be a cinch style back pack in the box featuring an all over Basquiat print. There will only be 1200 pairs for each colorway (images of each colorway after the jump) globally. The sneakers are set to release some time in August.

i'm really into that shoe, but the use of basquiat's work on a shoe makes no sense - the total opposite of his ideas and work.
