I thought the fly was great. Hadn't seen it since I was a little kid and I remember it freaking me out. I really enjoyed re-watching , good scifi movie, good writing, awesome direction by one of my favorites, cronenberg, and nostalgic.

This is actually one of my favorite (possibly my #1) movies of all time. I love the small cast and the classic Cronenberg body horror. The ending of the flick is so emotional and disturbing. Seriously great movie.

I recommend watching The Fly 2 as well. Directed by someone else but there are certain bits that have a very similar feel to the first.

I had a similar experience, but once you get into it really grabs you!

I remember watching the killing of a chinese bookie years ago and being bored out of my mind (i think it was the long cut). It still remains the only cassavetes film ive seen to date.

Will try to watch opening night, looks good.

Watched it last night and really enjoyed it. Super smart plot, good acting and well shot. I had forgotten about the oedipus plot twist as well....

the hammer fight scene is classic. out of the three 'vengeance' series films, old boy is definitely my favorite

i'm not sure about oldboy. i liked the cinematography and the concept of the movie but I thought the ending was kindof lame... maybe cuz i just watched incendies recently

ya, i watched it last night... i thought it was pretty bad. maybe i just lack the marketing background to really appreciate those concepts they continually go on about - like how everyone has to create a new persona, as they did w/ scats best friend turned archenemy, sneaky pete, or was it silent pete because he never talks?

i thought the concepts were interesting and I do have a slight marketing background, but I did think the ending was terrible.
