Vintage Lee Question

Recommended Posts

Hey people, I just picked up a pair of vintage Lee's from the thrift store...I usually walk away empty handed, but these Lee's really caught my eye...beautiful faded blue colour with some decent whiskering, twisted outseams, nice traintracks, sanforized and Talon 42 zipper..theyre not selvage (theyre overlock)...but above all the fit is wicked..straight-leg perfection!...Unfortunately for me I need cash more than I need more jeans so I will probably be putting these up on Ebay in the near future...I was wondering how much you think I could possibly get for them...I dont know much about vintage Lee's

Here's some pics..they really dont do these jeans justice...ill take some more close up ones when I get home:

wow....good eye CMF!...both the waist button and the black & yellow tab have big E's...that really is weird.......I've been looking at vintage Lee's from all over the map online and none of them have big E's....but the info on vintage Lee's is so scarce compared to Levis info that its hard to really know what I've got here...All I know is that the "lazy s" pocket arcuate wasnt introduced until 1944...or maybe the original owner removed the stitching before wearing them (a la Nudies)..they probably were embarrassed about them not being Levi's :P .....but that still doesnt help much...all i can say is that they look and feel too nice to be fakes...but who knows..hopefully some all-knowing denim expert can help

i don't know if this helps but i had a bootleg lee jacket that said LEG (all caps) instead of Lee on it. a friend of mine picked it up in France for me.

I think you were at my thread. here is the link.

You also can see that there's no vintage lee with big E. but the talon 42 and the pockets rivets look real to me. You better find more info before selling them. people may think it's a fake or sth.

These jeans are definitely a curiosity...I'm not 100% sure, but I think the arcuate stitching was removed before these jeans were first worn...theres no real evidence of this, but if you look at the pockets close enough you can kinda see the lazy "S" wave lurking.....or maybe thats just wishful thinking......and the big E's are a puzzle all their own......either way, if theyre bootlegs then whoever bootlegged them really knew their stuff

Hey vivaloschet, thanks for the info!...Do you know anything about the missing "s-wave" arcuate which should have appeared on the back pockets? Is that normal for workwear LEE's?
