homemade wallet braids

yo, what do ya'll think of the wallet braids i made? the top one isn't finished yet. it just needs to be a tad longer and all tied off and glued. i even pressed a grommet onto my old ass wallet professional stylie.

Did you buy a grommet kit? I've been trying to figure this out----I want a good quality grommet (silver or something), but the ones the come with the kits seem to be brass. Do shoe repair places do this kind of thing??? I'd rather have a pro do it than try it myself.

the kit i got came with brass grommets, but the lady said she had individual silver grommets for sale too. they are very easy to put on. the kit comes with a cutting tool to punch a proper sized hole in whatever. then just set up the two sides of the grommet and a couple hammer whacks later = done

not in the navy, but the knot is similar to a lanyard knot, it's called a crown knot. the thickness is easily controlled with the number of strings. the natural one uses 10 and the spiral one, 8.
