cheap 501xx leg twist questions.

Recommended Posts

Ok so I just searched a bit using that google searchbox that horriblyhollyjinx has on his blog and I've come to the conclusion that my cheap 501xx's are going to twist in the leg when I wash them. That begs me to ask the question why don't they twist when you first shrink them? or do they and I'm just missing it because mine are fairly baggy and the extra leg bulk is allowing me to keep them facing forward unconsciously? I think I'm probably going to wash them inside out this weekend to get them twisted before I put anymore wear on them so I don't have to put up with nonmatching wearmarks.

i would like to see a 'best in class' photo gallery of STFs actually.

I have a pair and I want to start work on them, but I have some 'better' jeans that are also queued to be started on and while I can vaguely predict how they will turn out from other posts, as yet, I still havent seen an STF where someone has truly put in the time and work, just like you would with a pair of Sugar Canes etc, and seen how they turn out.

I bet they will look almost as good as most of the other SF brands talked about, but no one has yet put in the time and effort to provide evidence as far as I am aware!!

I used to wear STF's exclusively when I was roofing and I did not wash them regularly becasue I would just shuck em off after work. I definately put the wear into them but they just never really came out looking right to me. I know because if they had I would of kept them. They seemed to always just fade out to a very dull light blue that was exceptionally uninteresting. Now this was somewhere around 1988 so maybe they were different then than now but none of them were worth keeping in my opinion.

yeah someone post a link if they are yours.

im too lazy to look

that evolution thread needs to be greatly trimmed. it should really be confined to pics ONLY so people can just use it as a reference guide, rather than conversation thread

i find they shrink a maximum of 2 inches in lenght (hot soak/wash) but never even close to 3", and while the waist does shrink a bit, it stretch back to original size, perhaps a half size larger. at least that's what happened with my last 2 pairs :\ it's hard to be losing/gaining weight while you're breaking in jeans.

when i first got them i did a cold soak and then when i came back 2 hours later and found out my tub leaked all the water down the drain i gave them a hot soak for an hour and then hung them outside to dry. i think i got all the shrinkage done but i'm still kind of worried that someday when (if) i do finally wash them they'll shrink more. i think it's just paranoia though
