ugh, think i over oiled it and it's kind of sloppy now, am i SOL or can i somehow cure to it dry it out somehow..it's taking on too much indigo now that it's lost its sheen...

Fine leather and an oven will be a tragic situation I can assure you (as evidenced by the leather tag on jeans that have been dried in the dryer) cool for a tag but it would make your wallet look pretty bad). Just keep using it and the oil will eventually come out of it. If the leather has indigo on it at this point it will probably stay so just keep using the thing and it will probably come out looking very cool.

Use a deglazer solution or acetone; they will remove the "sheen" of the excess oil. Read about it on the net....

How long before you posted did you oil? I have oiled the shit out of my Red Moon-esque wallet, and it always has dried to a colour not very different than before. Come to think of it, I do not know why I keep doing it.

Honestly, I would just stop worrying about it, and stop oiling it. Leave it out in the sun for a day if you want, but don't do anything else to it.

the sun will only evaporate water, not oil.

The oil will dissipate over time, I think you should just wait it out.

I think acetone will do more harm than good; it's pretty caustic stuff.

acetone will strip it of much of its color/texture. the end result would look similar to how it would if you had used sandpaper on it. best bet, just use it til it fixes itself. youll have some gnarly wallet wear on your jeans too. its a win/win.

can't you just wipe it with some fine cotton cloth and let the fiber picks up the oil? and let it just sit dry for a while?
