I work in the music industry and part of my job is to stay up-to-date with what is going on in the business, whether it be new artists/labels, etc. I get stacks of CDs daily and alot of free magazines: NME, Fader, AP, Rolling Stone, etc. whilst always having FUSE/MTV2/BET playing in the background.

Anyways, my question is, I can't seem to find (not that I have delved extremely deeply) a good up-to-date easily and quickly navigable blog/site on music news (i.e. no forums/messageboards). Something like a Hypebeast/SlamxHype except with rap, or indie, etc. etc. I know there are alot of conoisseurs of certain genres on hear and would love to know some of the sites you guys frequent. Unfortunately, hardcore/jazz/opera sites don't really help me because alas, they don't sell ringtones.........Thanks!

umm... please tell me you've heard of Pitchfork...

That'd be http://www.pitchforkmedia.com that minya is referring to. It's basically the 'independent' music website.

Other than that, all I really check are a bunch of .mp3 blogs.
