What is the mark up that a shop will put on brands like Stussy...

I've always wondered about this with brands like Nike and Levis to smaller brands like Stussy and Supreme. If I buy t-shirt for like $50 then what did the shop pay at wholesale? I once heard that if I buy some Nike sneakers for $100 then the shop paid around $70 for them. That seems like a lot to me. It makes me think is it better business financially speaking for the designers or the shops that sell their products?!

Take the trade price, double it and then add VAT (17.5%), my Ex had her own 'clubwear' shop (skimpy dresses and such) and this was how she marked up her stock.

Cost to her: £50

Double it: £100

Add 17.5%: £17.50

Tag price: £117.50

It depends on were your shopping Most skate shops "keystone" there cost which means double the price if your shopping in a place like urban outfitters or bigger stores many time they will double the price and ad 10% to cover shipping. With products like nike with such a high demand the shops buy them for 30-40 and sell them for over 100 dollars.

i dont know what the deal with this type of mark up is but i talked to the dude at matthew izzo about why the rrds were so cheap at the time and he was telling me how you have like a 17% (or some odd number) of a possible mark up you could make from whatever the manufacturer suggests as a price. they didnt go as high up as they couldve, the reason they were cheaper than everyone else.
