Went to this great cafe in Shibuya the other day, Jordi. It's on the street with the Uplink Factory, not far from the Beams area, and the cafe itself is across the street from the Journal Standard. It's on the second floor, so look up to find it. Music playing while I was there was Fantastic Plastic Machine's ZOO remix album. Great furniture with great view.

I hadn't heard of Jordi Labanda before your post (I googled it). Lovely stuff. I've seen his illustrations around, but never associated a name with it.

idee gang did the interior - menu is alright, i suggest the sausage, chips.

sit in front - bench seats in back are a bit tight for true lounge posturing.

The bench seats in back definitely seem like a tight fit. It wasn't very busy when I went, and so I got to site at the seats on the upper left in the pic. Just had a latte, but I'll probably go again for food. I liked the atmosphere.

i went to jordi on the weekend ... from the street you can see a big window and it looks interesting..... so wanted to go for some time.

at first they were full, but came back 30 minutes later and had a gin and tonic (henry miller inspired) on comfy seats.

there are turntables there, but nobody was using it. they had a nice drink menu, but the music was pretty bad when i was there. it reminded me of boa, or something like that - but maybe an indie electro lo-fi version.

i will probably go back again, but my favourite bar/cafe in shibuya is just around the corner - yusoshi. http://superfuture.com/city/reviews/review.cfm?id=879

Is Yusoshi in the same building as Cafe Apres-midi? Or near it? Sounds nice. I think I'll be in Shibuya next Saturday, so I'll to drop by and see if can get a seat.

yep. yusoshi is above cafe apres-midi.

i dont like cafe apres-midi. it seems like the retarded cousin of yusoshi. but it is always seems to be more popular and crowded. they both look and feel kinda similar, but the food and drink is bigger and nicer in yusoshi.

btw, yusoshi was designed by tomato, and is from the same company that does omocha and chano-ma - both in naka meguro.

Chano-ma is one of my favourite local neighbourhood bars.
