The Flat Head 3001

fadeaway

Recommended Posts

I generally wear 28 in straight cuts, but i got a 29 in these, hot soaked for 3 hrs + 40 min hot dry and they were a tight fit, but I knew after a couple of wears it would stretch out. It's been a month now and the the fit has become remarkable. I made a good choice by sizing up.

I basically sized down. My waist measures 33 or 34 but I got w32 since I have only ever worn w32 pants. After stretching a bit though the waist on my pair is perfect. Right after buying I wished I had gotten the w33 but aftter a month or so I was glad I got the w32.

I think I gained weight though... in the past couple weeks for the first time ever the thighs are skin tight when I sit down. 6' 3" 155 lbs time to go on a diet? :):(:mad::D:P

Seriously though these jeans are slim. Size up or stay true to size unless your legs are tiny.

Also soak and wash these jeans liberally. I didn't wash until 10.5 months and sort of regret it. The color and fading will look much nicer I think with early exposure to water and if you do what I did (not wash) you will get lots of cracking and holes behind the knees. undersireable in my opinion

if you do have larger thighs perhaps a different cut of jeans would be more flattering? All depends on the look you are going for of course.

habia or to anyone

how often did you wash your jeans?

im at the one month period woo. I can see if it doesnt touches water it'll start cracking. when I first took them out of the dryer, they felt so stiff they couldve ripped any minute, I was thinking that when I go back home this weekend i'll give it a cold soak.

yah ill probably just get a 33 i suppose. that post was awesome, thankyou. very informative, but ok, so i just measured my thighs and theyre about 22-24 inches around and at the biggest point, my ass is around 39-40 inches. Do you guys reckon these jeans are for me?

edit:

which of these sizing charts is more accurate?

Sidneylo and lamb, did you do anything artificial to your jeans, such as starching them?

I doubt it - they just go like that after a wash or two and lots of wear. Mine aren't quite as worn as the ones Lamb posted, but you can see that they're going that way. I'm not wearing them at the moment though, because a) London is far too hot and B) the pockets have start to rot/rip so I need to get them fixed.

f310 at 6 months, 5 months of actual wear.

actual colour is slightly darker than that of the pictures.

(edit: i just looked at the pictures on my desktop and the colour looks more accurate. so it could just be my laptop.)

Not much wear for 5 months but then again you could have had these jeans in rotation with other jeans.

Just got my pair of F310s. what do you think of the fit? seems a bit tight in the thighs, but im used to the repro cuts, so i may just not be used to it.

i went true to size and the waist is perfect. do you think i shouldve sized up for the thighs? havent soaked yet, so any advice would be appreciated. thanks

They're a bit blurry. I'd send them back.

The fits good. Soak for an hour or so and you'll be set.

stupid question alert...

i've got the sexfh's (same denim), and i don't think my 1hr soak got all the shrinking out (inseam could prob lose another .5-1"). i've been wearing them for about a week or so, and the creases/stacks/combs have all set in nicely. if i soak them in warm/hot water, will i mess up the chances of getting good contrasts on them? i feel like a warm soak will strip some indigo, and since the creased haven't been worked in, they'll just become lighter w/ no contrast fades. what should i do?

^you should be able to do another soak no problem. These things are dyed so well I was losing indigo onto my hands for a month or two... As long as theres no agitation during the soak I doubt you'll loss any noticable amounts of color.

I say, go for another soak if you think theres more shrinkage to be had.

not ready to do evo pics yet as I can only wear these before/after work and on weekends but here's some fit pics after 3 months. A shitty original fit pic was posted on pg 42 or something (4.4.08)

pulled my shirt up to show Corter natural leather belt.

also 3 mo tanned 2 days using Obenaufs LP.

for reference, I'm 6'2" 185 lbs and sized up one to a 34

got just the fit I was hoping for...

thanks, appreciate it!

I was worried at first that I wouldn't fit into the 310's but really wanted a slimmer fit. I was really debating between these sized up one or sized down or tts 380's but I'm really glad I went with the f310. The original owner did a 4 hour hot soak changing the water 3 times with as hot of water as he could get out of his utility sink so hoping I can wash these warm withot having to worry about much shrinkage when the time comes.
