Good Unbranded/unmarked jersey polo shirts

I tried on a ralph lauren cotton jersey (like tshirt-ish material) polo shirt yesterday but wasnt really into the 55 quid price tag since i dont care about the brand. Does anyone have a good source for this jersey style polo? I dont like shit quality so please dont mention topshop or h&m, but i dont really want one with a little embroidered whatever on my chest.

PS Arent those embroidered things lame? Its like constant one-upsmanship to see who can have the most esoteric little emblem or animal...

if you are in the states, the few times ive been down there recently ive picked up some nice custom fit polos at marshalls and tj maxx

like dudes said above, if you have the time...you can always find ralph lauren at goodwill and salvation army. if you don't want something used, tj maxx has them for 10-30 dollars depending on what it is. that's about as cheap as you will get on RL.

american apparel is usally available on ebay. i have a couple club monaco polos; their pretty much symbol-less and they have a nice tailored fit. but i can't remember the price.
