  3. Fob Factory F198. I can’t find much information on these at all but I think they’re pre-2006. They were in a musty one-wash condition when I bought them and I’ve just given them another 40°C wash and will get them hemmed soon.

  8. @Cold Summer @Double 0 Soul @julian-wolf truly the best fades come from hard work and frequent washing. I wear my stuff for work as a plumbing apprentice. Kneeling, crawling, crouching, climbing you name it. And it really is cool to push some of the higher end denim to the limits. Not cost effective at all. Wrangler 13MWZ last just as long and look great faded and only cost about $30 vs Freewheelers and Warehouse that are closer to $280 haha

  12. Nicked this from Workwearyears on lg - l'm positive this is an early Lee 101J from the 30s or early 40s judging by the shape of the front pocket and some other details.

  15. I have been on an extraneous journey to find the perfect jeans that fit my many personalities and styles. I remember have a pair dark blue tapered denim Levi’s and black slim fit true religion jeans that fit me perfect. Life took them away from and I have yet to find a pair like either, and it doesn’t help that I don’t remember the exact style of either now I’m back on the hunt. This journey has brought me me to Benzak’s B-01s and 02s and Momotaro’s wide straight. I have even venture back into time and found a pair of light washed Robin jeans.

  18. Yes, I believe the 2x1 was the $500 pair and the 3x1 was the $520 pair, but I may have that backwards. I’ll take a closer look to see which weave is which though.

  19. It’s not that they feel restrictive or anything—besides the lower rise, they feel pretty similar to the SC ‘47, which have always fit me great as far as slim–straight (relative to my build) jeans go. I just generally prefer much wider and higher jeans, stylistically. After this contest, I wouldn’t be surprised if I spent a year wearing nothing but the M41027 and the M41058

  23. Fit pics with different ways of buttoning. The jacket feels smaller than the measurements suggest. But I don't plan to layer and wear denim jackets mostly in the warmer months with just a tshirt underneath.

  31. $500 for the version with the machine finished button openings (labeled 1124), $520 for the hand finished ones (0425). I’m not sure which denim each was as the language barrier was something to navigate

  33. ^ that’s what the 611 was for! 😏 or maybe I just sized a bit generously? It’s funny how loose and free these feel compared to my usual pairs - aside from my sized up 132s, that is.

  34. Thanks folks! Really pleased with how they’re wearing in so far. I do wish the cut was wider and higher, but the detailing is good and the denim is just lovely

  43. Brooks Vantage Heritage, released in 2014 I think, although I bought this pair a couple of years later, from Brooks UK. Here’s a couple of links about them and the originals from 1976/77 here and here. I must get around to wearing these!

  45. ^ Yea I’m not gonna claim any moral high ground here. I have a pair of their skate shoes from 10 years ago or so I still kick around (I got them on clearance). But, as a company they are pretty damn odious, much like Levi’s. I don’t think, even if Levi’s made an actual perfect stitch for stitch reproduction of their vintage jeans I would be interested at this point. Maybe if they kick started White Oak to get up and running again and gave those people back their jobs I’d think about it? But probably not. But I really don’t like Nike personally because of what they did to skateboarding. Nike getting in was a big part of it changing a lot in ways that for me - drove the culture in an uninteresting direction. I appreciate some like the advancements and competitive and institutional nature their entry had a role in ushering in. I didn’t. Smaller skate shoes companies had a much better shot and even stayed somewhat solvent much more often before they entered. Basically, they had a major role in killing off or badly damaging a lot of the brands that would trigger that same nostalgia for me. Funny enough, in my teenage years, my other sport for a good while was distance running - I ran XC - but I always liked running in Asics better and set all my old (mediocre) PR’s in those. Japanese brand. Go figure.
