  2. Day 152/366 EOM5 update for SEXI26-ST
  3. Yesterday
  4. Living out in the country, I feel ok about owning some garments that combine practicality & vintage vibe, while not necessarily being the most flattering cuts. I consider the Ooe vests to be in that category. There are a lot of items in my closet that never make it further than our acreage & the road that surrounds it. That's ok. They probably get more hours of solid wear than the 'playing a show' / 'going out to somewhere, trying to look cool' pieces. I do have a pretty large vest section in my closet. Some are right for wearing out. There's a nice Rising Sun piece that combines the half moon pockets with an old west vibe. And a Mr Freedom vest that goes with a pair of pants in the same fabric. I have some FW vests too, all of which are great. I've been an avid collector. Apparently it's in my nature...
  5. Haha less mate... I updated above with non denim trousers so proportionately it's now even less

  7. Since we're all doing updates, here is mine after a little over a year. Changes are in bold. FW 1942 to be added soon, thinking about selling all my WH jeans if anyone is interested. I just haven't been wearing them at all lately. If you happen to see a pair up for sale that sparks your interest hit me up, haven't properly listed any of them yet (besides the Boncoura and At Last). 11. Of the jeans you (yung_flynn) mention, I have the Resolute 710 and 714 and Denime 220a and 221, all in size 36. Though they fit differently, the 714 and 220a are my favorites, followed by the 221 and 710. I find the Resolute 710 almost unwearable, due to its trimness through the hips and thighs (anyone need a pair?). In contrast, the 714 looks great and is very comfortable, despite a lower rise than I typically like. I also love the fact that Resolute lets you choose the inseam that works best -- one of the few makers where you don't need to worry about hemming. The Denime 220a has a higher rise than either Resolute and is great -- roomy, but only where necessary. The 221 fits more like a pair of '60s Levis, for better or worse -- hanging down on my hips and dropping straight from there.
  12. Who knows maybe one day when I'm jonesing for a new project I'll take the plunge
  13. Your to far away to come around and give it a go. there,s plenty of brazed mtb,s you need a thicker tubes. the welds are similar strong, tig or brazed. my welding knowledge is slim, but you need to get a feel for brazing, if it’s not hot enough it doesn’t work and when it’s to hot you burn the lot
  14. Update & CP2 price drop to 1,7k€
  15. @smoothsailor Looks like you brazed it--from what I understand that's at least the most straightforward since you don't need any welding setup, is that accurate or does brazing have its own complications? It's always been something in the back of my head too. Anything I'm passionate about I start to wonder if I could make my own, but the margin for error on a mountain bike frame could be a lot more catastrophic.
  16. Interesting to read b_F's approach to collecting/wearing the Denim Pants, it's interesting that many of us have been into this hobby for so long now yet have ever-evolving perspectives on it. I've been back in my older pairs. I wore my first pair of Flat Head 3005s a lot this spring, which I bought back in mid 2018. They're around a year and a half of wear and still going strong, the knees and bottom probably have at least a few more months of wear until they blow out. I'm back in my Warehouse 1001xx for a bit but they probably have less than a month to go until the knees bust. Once those two pairs are damaged I'll probably wash and store, eventually repair and keep wearing. Might finally start on a new pair in the fall: most likely my Samurai S0510xx I bought a few years ago. My second pair of TFH 3005s are about nine months of wear, but I'll probably wear something not-TFH for a while before I keep working at these. 1-2 days a week I'm wearing non-denim pants, a pair of Buzz Rickson 1930s chinos and Stevenson salt and pepper trousers, which add some nice variety. I have dead stock Flat Head 3003xx and 1005 pairs, but I'm thinking I'll save those for a future contest, maybe.
  17. As far as vests go. I too am in the more modern vest camp like @bartlebyyphonics some end up looking too much like a costume. I like vests for working my blue collar job. So the Filson hits all the boxes and can hold my tools, markers, etc. The OOE is cool but honestly I think looks best raw/new. I don’t think I’d like it as much after its faded.
  18. @Jared_Lee showing how it’s done once again! Fuckin ace brother!
  19. @Sympathy-For-The-Denim, they are the standard 13.75 oz. I usually wash right side out after the first two or three washes. There's no deeply thought out formula to how I wash. I wash when I think they need it. I use the machines and detergents available to me at the moment (sometimes travelling). And honestly, it doesn't make any difference. I have some pairs that end up with rivers. I have some that end up with deep creases. I have some that don't. It's antithetical to the garment to treat it any differently than underwear or a tee shirt when it comes to how you wash it. I just wear and wash and let what happens happen.
  20. thanks for the vote of confidence @julian-wolf! Jared's advice above is pretty much how I wear my post overalls vest that has the nearest dimensions (but is a lightweight material); they go weirdly well with cut off military cargos / shorts (or oversized Nigel Cabourn) and logo t-shirt more than 'heritage' / 'rugged' stylistic agenda... This upcoming Ooe offering is fairly heavy material? The downwards bellow of the style is pretty equivalent to a chore coat but without the balance of the sleeves and collar: it has to be balanced by something else... The half-moon pockets are absolutely design grail for me, but is not something that pairs easy with a Canadian tux... am currently looking over recent-ish filson vests (80s/90s) too; has the half-moon on one side, with less bounce at the bottom, and pockets for days... but these def. lean away from elegance into something more blocky and very much pointing to external wear, not desk warrior... also quite a fan of this one from Soundman...
  21. Very well possible! Athough the denim doesn't feel as thick. I think it isn't the wisest move to switch their labelling now. Bears has them still listed as 14.5oz (raw) which will shrink to 15.9oz. So they just put the 10% shrinkage on top.
  22. @Jared_Lee epic pair! are these the 13 or 15oz version and did you wash em inside out?
