  1. Today
  2. This is awesome. What a day. Funnily enough, this happened to me as well. Started with my eldest child coming into our bedroom at 6AM on a Saturday asking why cows where in our yard. You can assume my response... not nearly as great of an adventure as yours. No denim involved.
  3. ^ that's a beautiful pair of frankenpants
  4. And some interior photos, which I think have been lacking from previous updates…I'm a sucker for the 2x-spliced-together selvedge lines down the outseams, and for the oxidized–bleached spots where the front rivets hit the back yoke, when the jeans are folded.
  5. Had some time to kill w/ a needle and thread this week while out of town, so I put some more time in on the old M41200 that got their seat replaced earlier this year. Knees were wearing dangerously thin all the way out to past the outseams. Did the topstitching around the edges of the denim by hand, then closed everything up on the machine after getting back home. The patch fabric is leftover from some SC40302 Okinawa jeans that are now cutoffs, I think the grass-dyed version (whatever that means). Throwing in some general wear photos, too, while I'm here: the seams where the new denim from the last repair meets the old are starting to see some nice puckering!
  6. @shredwin_206 Really liking them a lot. Mostly only wear them off road to save the honey soles (this was on the way to the beach w/ the dogs). I like the finishing on my Frank's better but these are built like tanks, plus they're a lot lighter—and the leather is my favorite of the "work" leathers that I've tried, super supportive and not too bad of a break-in. Couldn't ask for anything more in a pair of (what I think of as) hiking boots. Will probably go for a second pair at some point. I think I did a quick write-up on these in the Shoes thread not too long ago, with some photos & some further thoughts.
  7. @NilsLW nice fit! I wear the same size as you and they fit me exactly the same. You almost forget the inseam is shorter than others once you've worn them for a bit. Makes them really easy to wear with different types of shoes too, boots, sneakers, oxfords etc.

    Belts

@engine your braided belts are top class - I try to keep with you on IG
  9. @julian-wolf how you liking them jk?
  10. When I was a kid, we spent around a week each year at a family friend's cabin up in the mid-Sierra, off of the 108. It's on a (dammed) lake, so plenty of swimming, fishing, exploring, etc. Over the span of the 2010s, the lake got more and more crowded, and I focused my spare time less and less on frontcountry. Around 10 years went by without me visiting. Anyway, this summer we got an invitation to go back. I'm taking a few months off from work, so time isn't as much of a commodity for me; and, anyway, there's something going on with the connective tissue in one of my knees, so backcountry hiking is off the table for the time being. Cabin trip seemed perfect. Spent last week laying low, playing board games, sitting + swimming + fishing by the water, working on fixing up an old pair of Cane's…lots of fun through and through.

  12. This is the power of marketing for me. Do I collect pants? Yea, apparently I do to some extent. Do I think of myself as someone who collects pants? No. Pants are for wearing. I buy them to wear (eventually), not to admire, stockpile, etc. ”Super Denim Collectibles” makes it an easy pass! I guess I should thank SC, really. Otherwise I might end up with more jeans.

    Belts

Hey guys, haven't posted anything here in a while. Still making custom belts. One of the last pieces I made.
  14. In the wording it says that this buckleback model was only made from April to August 1942? Wonder when the second factory opened as there was only the Valencia Street facility in December 1942. After the war there 3 Levis factories.
  15. J77-AM size M, 9.5/10 condition no flaws - 700 EUR. Acronym x Sacai SAC-J2762 Sage Green Bomber size M, 9.9/10 like new condition with tags - 1400 EUR. WTB J55-MP Black size M.
  16. If I only knew! What I got from the videos Clutchman TV posted, there were 8 pieces from one single source, which ended up with the collector we see in the vidoes. All in deadstock condition maybe? Surely, the differences would be minor and besides the obvious stitching errors we cannot judge if the denim is really that different.
  17. Loose threads in different places?
  18. Wonder what differences there will be between the 1943, 1945 and the 1946 models? @beautiful_FrEaK
  19. Parcel came today morning. Picked up NON WASH version from Noaki....
  20. @silencejoe No photos of the originals they are based on then??
  21. Damn, where did you find the pics already?! I am more of a no-cinch guy so the 1945 are more intersting to me
