Desperately trying to find out sho made these

$450 is way out of what I can afford. Any suggestion of something that looks similar? This is dry denim, right? Baggy/loose cut? Or regular cut worn oversize on the hip? I love the way the back pockets are so low, and how the jeans have that "rigid" look.

you dont have to spend $450 to get that same look

classic straight leg, regular fit, high rise, dry rigid denim with no branding. thats not hard to find, especially for even less then half the price... possibly even better quality denim.

and yea looks like he sized up and wear them low on the hips.

But if Pharrell's not wearing it, then its Niketalk Quotient goes way, way down. Gotta remember that.

Interesting I didn't realize these are high-rise. I can't find any info of APC rescue from their website but did find some pics here after a search. What's the difference between that and the new standard? BTW I like those shoes as well.

Think I may go and check out the APC shop here in Hong Kong (but their sales people know next to nothing about their jeans line)

Rescue is the Straight Jean on the APC website. Its similar to the New Standard, but the New Standard is tapered. I've never tried on any APCs before, so I wouldn't know whether you'd need to size up to achieve the desired fit.

i would go for a raw New Standard. size up, and wear it low. leave the length unhemmed so it bunches at the bottom. the NS "taper" is hardly enough to consider being a tapered jean. its the classic straight leg in my opinion.

actually you dont need to "size up" just buy your exact waist size... APC's marked size is already sized up plenty enough, and the fit wont be anything near "tight" at that size.

wearing the Rescue baggy will look... baggy. nothing like that photo (look behind the knees, wont happen with rescues im afraid).

i have a pair of Rescue jeans (wear loose) and after about 1 month post-stretch out, its more of a relaxed "skate jean" cut, rather then a classic straight leg.

another alternative might be Dior's 21 cm (which is very similar to APC NS but longer). size it up low and loose, wear it to hell. after it softens up and falls naturally, should look nice and scrunched all down the leg.

hope this helps.

another note, just get both jeans... still less then $450. i'd take a raw NS and DH 21cm over 1 pair of LV any day.

Looking at those pics, Rag & Bone comes to mind. Their RB6 is cut straight and loose, and you wouldn't even really have to size up. The finish of the selvage version is pretty similar... kind of streaky, dry/rigid looking and with a bit of a sheen despite being washed. The RB's also have a slightly lower pocket in the rear, so you could get that slouchy look without sagging your jeans.
