Illustrator CS4 basic problem..

Can anyone explain to me while holding alt how come I can't move the eclipse I'm drawing anymore?. I know shift button constraints the eclipse but I could in previous Cs editions move the eclipse on the fly by holding alt.

For some reason they did away with that option. Maybe they will bring it back in an update.
