what size in common projects these would be? 40?

Well, I had these CPs in 40 and here's my impression:

CP 40 = really narrow, some room in the toes

LANVIN 5 = wider, slightly less room in the toes

If I had gotten those CPs in a 39.5, it would have been too small...those felt more rigid because of the thick suede whereas you've got some flexibility with the mesh.

I'll admit these Lanvins were a bit uncomfortable at first not due to the size, but one of the eyelets digging into my feet, but I've gotten used to it or it got worn down?

Anyway, I would say 39.5 because I don't want to be that douche that says "Medium, but fits S and L too!"
