hello y'all. 1st post. read A LOT of this forum tho. just wondering if anyone has info on the first run of levis reds.. i got a pair a while back and i just began to rock em. so far so good. real slubby and softening up nice.

i know they're selvage, and made in tunisia.. but that's about it. haven't found much info online other than some sold out pages on a few japanese sites. looking for the professional consensus. i'm attemping to post pics.

"very, very nice. so, if I want to search for them, should I use " levis red 1st hipstar", is that the real name?"

They have no back pockets and are a much more rigid denim than the one with the back pocket they released in the same collection (from what I could tell). There's also a variation on these with a blue line on the outseam. I haven't seen the hemp ones, I'd love to see them tho. When I got them it was in the middle of a heat wave and I ended up wearing Edwin eFunction raws instead. Which were great btw.

I'll post some more wear photos later tonight.

anyone know the significance of the selvage not having the more common white trim on the side?
