Fjaalraven

I just purchased the Fjaalraven Kaken bag in Ox Blood from Oi Polloi as I'm going backpacking this summer and need a bag that'll hold up well. In anticipation for it to arrive in the mail, I'm wondering if anyone has experience with any of Fjaalravens stuff? Is it quality shit?

The quality is great on most stuff.

Kånken has really narrow shoulder straps though, and is by no means a "backpacking" bag.

Kånken is a classic but as Bobo said, i'd get something more hiking-y.

You won't be disappointed with Fjällräven's stuff though, the construction is great. I have two lighter jackets from the 70s that still are the bee's knees.

Kånken is an official part of the indie teenage uniform. Radio dept-bag as #2. seriously.

i love my kanken! fun, simple, and great material.

definitely not going to do you any good for backpacking though. more of just a day pack to hold a couple things.

i wish there was a real retailer in the US. I really want to pick up a couple of their jackets. Opening Ceremony in NY has some, but considering the kanken is $100 there, i don't even want to know how jacked up the jacket prices might be...

After looking at the dimensions I'm thinking about returning it and getting the 30L rucksack.
