your question is wrong. In the US it's about what you buy, in Europe it's what you visit/experience.

Seriously, I might be wrong, but I don't think there is that much you cannot buy in the US in any way or other.

local food/wine/beer. Local alcohol in general. Like Rakia in Balkans or certain types of Vodka in Poland, etc.

When in Holland or Germany , go to the supermarket and pick up a crate to your liking,

could be a nice green heineken crate, or a german warsteiner ...

Empty the crate and bring back the empty bottles...(yes we got a returns rate on it!!!)
